Gymnastic Try-Outs...All or Nothing

I'm not athletic. That has never stopped me from attempting the impossible. Sixth grade gymnastic try-outs were after school in the auditorium. How hard could it be to do a cartwheel on a balance beam? Hand, hand, foot, foot -- on a six-inch wide piece of wood about 5 feet off the ground. I blacked out after I knocked the wind out of myself when I missed the foot, foot part, slammed my ribs into the balance beam and crash landed on the mat.

Ninth grade cheerleading tryouts were after school on a Friday. I had the claps and the cheers down cold. How hard could it be to do a split? My mother's Thursday night bridge club watched, horrified, as I assured them it would be fine, you'll see. Yeah, ouch. Some things you shouldn't try to force. I watched the tryouts from the sidelines.

Friday, November 27th is my book debut. The day it goes up on Amazon. No more leaving things until the last minute. I have prepped and done my due diligence until I am cross-eyed with effort. Lists have been made, goals have been met and details have been meticulously hammered out. Until I decided at the last minute it would be really cool to have both versions of my book (electronic and hard copy) released at the same time -- I mean, how hard could it be?!!!

Some things never change...
