Devising a way to escape from your powered recliner in case you drop your remote, figuring out a way to cut your food by attaching a pizza wheel to a serving fork with a rubber band (hat tip to Mark Goldberg), realizing tie shoes are impossible and loafers are the way to go, and using an electric toothbrush, not a manual one, are some of the ways we learn how to deal with every day issues with only one working shoulder.

There is a whole army of us out there. Lots of people are having shoulder surgery. Since I've written Shoulder Surgery Recovery, I've been approached by more and more who want to share their own ideas, tips and inventions that have helped them through the healing process.

When push comes to shove, shoulder surgery brings out the survivor in us. Neurons start firing in new and different connections as we realize there is no way in hell we are going to get from point "A" to point "B" in a sling without some creative modifications. If you want to get in on the conversation, go to my author page and post on the forum to discuss this. Let's get the word out to help each other.
